Android 5.0 Lollipop

Yesterday Google finally released the final name for Android L, Android 5.0 Lollipop. Google also announced the Nexus 6, the Nexus 9, and also the Nexus Player, the first device to run the new android wear but I will get more into that in the next post.

Features

Material design

During Google I/O, Google's developer conference, Google showed off the new bold, colorful, and responsive UI. The new UI has new vivid colors and typography. It also has realistic light and shadow so if they're is a button on the screen it will look like it has a shadow underneath it so it would look like it is floating.

Notifications

From the lock screen you are able notifications and for some of them you can reply right from the lockscreen. You also have to ability to hide impotent notifications from the lock screen just in case you leave your phone at the restaurant you were just at and no one can see important notifications when they wake up the phone. This is important if you are trying to get a new high score in that game you love. Now if you get a call for example a little box will appear on the top of the screen were you can answer it or just swipe it away to ignore it.

Device Sharing

If you're in a hurry you forget your phone, you can now log in to your Google account on another phone that runs lollipop and make a call with out sharing any files or personal stuff on that phone. This means you can lend your phone to other people with them shearing stuff with you.

Android TV

The new version is also compatible with Android TV so that means casting content from your phone just like Chromecast. You can even use your phone as a remote.

Device Set-Up

Setting up a new Android device has never been easier then ever with your old device you can tap the new device together and everything is transferred. You need to make sure to have a phone compatible with NFC first. With apps, music, books, movies, and TV are going to be transferred and for games you if you signed into with Google Play games all your high scores will stay the same.

REVIEW: Chromebook C720

The Good

The Acer Chromebook C720 is a perfect light Chromebook for on the go or an extra laptop for around the house. The keyboard is easy to type on and the super fast wake up time is perfect. Since it is laptop from Google you can also works well with Android devices. The computer does not get any viruses and automatically updates when you turn the computer off. The operating system is easy to use and you can access any documents, movies, and music on any other computer with your Google account thanks to Google drive and Google Play. It is also integrated with Google now so it will show up with a notification.

 The Bad

It only has one USB 2.0 port and one USB 3.0. The operating system is a cloud base so you mostly wifi to use this computer. It is also not running windows so you can't use any of the Microsoft apps available. The app store does not have that many interesting apps to get. They're sometimes the computer reboots when the computer is almost out of power.

The Overall

It is a light computer that is easy to use and very portable. It is perfect for students and easy for grandparents. If you need an extra computer or a gift to a friend this is a perfect computer.

Google Now Launcher Available For More and Why I Like It

I am sorry I am late for this post something was not working with the schedule posting and I was busy with school to post this manually please for give me.

Google released the nexus 5 launcher (a.k.a Google Now Launcher) to the Play store. It is available for Android 4.1 and higher like it was when you installed the apk. The best thing about Google putting the launcher on Google play is that when a new version of Android is available it updated to look like pure android. It seems like Google is trying to make android better with this launcher because they want everyone to have a pure android experience.

Good bye Cable, Hello Streaming Media

Cable is getting more and more expensive but sometimes people can't handle it, but, thanks to Netflix, Hulu, and more. Suddenly cutting cable is so much easier. If you are getting rid of cable and need help you are in the right place.

Streaming media services

streaming video services like Hulu and Netflix lets you watch TV on your phone, tablet, laptop, and also TV. Their are different ways to bring these two streaming services to your TV. If you have a smart TV I bet it is already installed on the TV.

Set Top Boxes

Their are more then one media boxes this one is the Roku 2. Apple even makes one that works well with your iOS and iMac devices, you might have heard of it, it is called the Apple TV. Some of these boxes can also work well with your smartphone by letting you use your phone as a remote.

Streaming Stick

A streaming stick is a device that plugs in to your TV with HDMI that can connect to the internet and watch Netflix or any other streaming service.
It basically turns your TV in to a smart TV. Roku makes a one that does the same thing the box does. Chromecast is my favorite because it is the most easiest to use because their is no remote you use your phone as the remote and set up is easy to.

Gaming Consoles

A gaming console like the Xbox 360 can play streaming media just make sure it is connected to the internet and go download it in the marketplace or store on the console. You are ready to go.

The Top Essentials to Make your Home a Smart Home

The smart home is a big thing right now but if you want to make your house a smart house.

1. Smart thermostat

A smart thermostat is basically a thermostat connected to wifi that has multiple features and some can connect through an app on your smartphone. They are not always nest thermostat there are more out there. A smart thermostat would be helpful to use a smartphone and put the thermostat to a right degree before you get home from work, school, or just busy for the day, you can come home and rest from a busy day.

2. Smart vacuum

The smart vacuum is perfect when you busy and you don't have that much time to clean around your house. You can set up as scheduled for it so when you are out you can have a clean floor when you get home. Some of them have a remote so you can control it while you are at home.

3. Smart Lock

A smart lock is connected through the internet and can be used with the smartphone app. To get in to the the house you can use the app or if you have a power outage you have to use your key. Some of them just uses Bluetooth and you can open the door that way but I recommend to keep your old key with you.

4. Smart light bulbs

This is an option but you can if you want to. You can connect these light bulbs to the wifi and control them with your smartphone.

HOW TO: How to Make your Android Device Look and Fell Like Pure Android Kitkat

Google made Android so you can make customization's to your own smartphone. Even if a OEM has put a user interface over it, like touchwiz, you can still make customization's to the phone. Here, I will show you how to make your Android device look and feel like pure Android 4.4 Kitkat.

1. Google keyboard

Google put the keyboard that they put on all of the nexus devices and all of the Google Play Edition devices on the Google play store. The cool thing about Google putting their keyboard on the play store is that when Google comes out with a new version of Android, Google updates the app and gets the same features the pure Android devices gets. That includes the swipe feature and the emoji support too.

2. Google Hangouts

After Google released the new version of Android the primary texting app is Hangouts and Google also said that they would release an update that says in the description their is SMS and MMS support for Android version 4.0 and higher. This makes it easier for people who uses both hangouts and they text they have one app to go to. This only available on Android smartphones 4.0 and higher so even if you downloaded it on your phone and you want to read your texts from a tablet and/or computer you can't do that. Make sure when you installed the app make sure you go to the settings, SMS, and turn on the SMS capabilities.

3. Google Now

This is easy, all you just need to do for this part is to make sure Google Now is updated to the latest version. This will be a lot of help later.

4. Google Now launcher

I have already did a blog post of this but to install this you need to go in to your settings, security, and check install from unknown sources. Here is the launcher click here

The new Cricket Wireless

Cricket and aio wireless are joining forces and Cricket are making big changes to their network. One of the changes is the instead of CDMA like they used changed to 4G GSM so that means they had to change the devices they used to they kept the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the iPhones but they are GSM and all the new GSM phones are from aio wireless and you can bring your own compatible device now. I recommend to get a phone with Cricket before March of 2015, that is when they are killing of their old CDMA phones. Cricket is now an AT&T company and AT&T killed of aio wireless so it is just Cricket now so that is why all of the aio wireless phone are on Cricket. Oh, if you are on Cricket and you want a windows phone the Nokia Lumia 520 is on cricket and any unlocked phone GSM phone will work with a Cricket SIM card.

HP's New Tablet

In the picture, the tablet on the right side is a iPad Mini, The tablet on the right side is HP's newest the HP 8. The tablet is running Android and it is much cheaper then the iPad Mini. I think HP is going to run in to trouble with Apple one day.

How to Pick The Best Android Phone for you.

There are many Android Phones out there and if you want one, there might be one just for you. Here are things to ask your self before you buy the wrong.

What Kind of Screen Size you Want

There is a specific screen size for what you like to do on your device. If you watch YouTube videos and movies all day then a big display will be perfect for that. If you love to play games and love to text then a medium display will be perfect for that. If you like to save some power and does work and text and makes calls then a small display will be perfect for that. I am just saying that you need to ask your self what kind of things you want to do with a display and it is the perfect size for it.

What kind of Speakers

By what kind of speakers I mean front facing speakers or rear facing speakers. If you are a music lover and love to watch movies and YouTube then front facing speakers like on the HTC One would be perfect. If you just use your device for work use and texting and calling then rear facing speakers are for you.

2 New Things Added to Google Play

Google added two new devices on Google Play. One of them was recalled but was able to sell again.

Moto G

The Google Motorola Moto G was added to the list of Google Play Edition. I would like to say the Moto g was already a pure Android Phone. Google kept the same price unlocked at $179 at 8 gigs. This idea was not a very smart one from Google. It was already Pure Android, Google bought Motorola so ever since that all the phones has Pure Android. The specs are the same as normal. If your not convinced that the Moto G does not have Pure Android then this phone is for you.

HP Google Chromebook 11

When the Chromebook 11 was first announced it was released on Google Play but a mouth or 2 it was taken off. It got recalled. Ever since that when you go to the chrome web page the the Chromebook 11 was still on there but it said coming soon. We waited until the laptop went back to sell. A few days ago the Chromebook 11 was on sale. The laptop comes in blue, red, yellow, green, and black. It is available for $279

Happy New Year!!!

I would like to say sorry that this is late I have been super busy. But I would like to say Happy New Year!!!!! 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: Best Pure Android Phones and Tablets

Since Google put more Google Play Edition devices to line of devices and Google bought Motorola so most of their devices have pure Android. So I decided that I do an updated version of Best Pure Android Phones but also Tablets.

Motorola

1. Moto X

The Moto X is one of my favorite devices ever since Google bought Motorola. This phone is running the latest version of Android 4.4. This phone is basically running stock android but with a redesigned camera app. I would like to say after the 4.4 update it is running the same UI as Nexus 7 and all the other nexus devices behind the Nexus 5 that is updated to Android 4.4. I think this device is a Google branded device because Google bought Motorola. You are able to customize the phone the way you want on all US major carriers. This phone is available on all major US carriers.

2. Moto G

The Moto G is basically a cheaper version of the Moto X. You can change the back color of the phone with back plates not on Moto Maker. This phone is available unlocked and cost $175 as I remember. Bestbuy is selling the phone on Verizon for $100 off contract. This does not have 4G but has stock Android. The phone will update to Android 4.4 this in January. This phone is the best and cheapest phone money can buy.

Google Play Edition

1. HTC One

Play edition phones are the best way to get best out of Android but popular devices are running it. You can get a Nexus feel or Stock Android in a sleek, aluminum body. This phone is unlocked but only works for AT&T and T-Mobile. The phone had beats sound in 2 speakers. The phone is available for $599 on Google Play.

2. Samsung Galaxy S4

The Play Edition S4 is running stock Android in a thin sleek body. The 5in screen is a perfect way to watch or stream videos. It has a 13 megapixel on the rear camera and a 2 mp front facing camera. This phone is unlocked but only works with AT&T and T-Mobile. This phone is available for $649 on Google Play.

3. Sony Z Ultra

The Sony Z Ultra is new to the Google Play Edition line and running the latest version of stock Android makes it better. With a 6.8 in screen makes it the biggest phone in the line yet but not the biggest device. This phone is waterproof and is built to be dropped so it makes it the best phone for an outdoors person. This is unlocked and available for $649 on the Play store

4. LG G Pad 8.3
This is the first tablet introduce to the line of devices. With a 8.3in screen makes it on of the biggest devices in this line. It is running the latest version of stock Android so it is the best way to get the best out of Android. The tablet is available for $349 on Google Play.

Nexus Devices

1. Nexus 5

The Google Nexus 5 is the perfect device to get the most out of Android. This is the first phone to be running Android Kit Kat 4.4. Nexus devices are always running stock Android. Google makes these devices cheap, for the 16 gig model it is $349 and $399 for the 32gig. This Nexus device is available unlocked on Google Play but it will not work with Verizon.

2. Nexus 7 (2013)

The 2013 Nexus 7 is a great 7 in tablet. It is nice to hold and it is very light. It is a Nexus device so it will be running the stock Android and the latest version of Android. The tablet is available on a wi fi version and a 4G LTE it will work for AT&T and T-Mobile.

No Nexus 10 Because

I am not going to add the Nexus 10 to the list because there are rumors of a nexus 10 2. This does not mean that the Nexus 10 is not a great device.
